Do you wash and save your used aluminum foil and baggies? I thought this was a weird but yet great concept when I first heard of this. I don't remember who, but a lady at my church did this years ago. I started following her lead and I still collect aluminum foil that is going to be thrown away at family and church dinners. Even if it can't be reused, I will throw it in the recycle bin so it can be recycled.
Obviously this is not a new concept because I was listening to talk radio and a lady was talking about how her grandmother lived during the Great Depression and she never wasted anything. One of the things she did was wash used aluminum foil and baggies. I love to save money and do my little part with recycling this stuff, but I didn't think about if I didn't have money to buy these items. Each piece of foil is precious in its own little way. It can make a difference between a great meal or a dried out meal. A baggie is great storage for on the run snacks but I can't bear to throw one away unless raw meat was stored in it in the freezer.
With this being said, what do you recycle? What is worth putting a little elbow grease into to save a little money or save it from the garbage dump? I don't do near the recycling that I should, but I do try and am learning more about what I can do.
